Asif Ali is the upcoming hard-hitting batsman and finisher who play for Pakistan national team. He was born on 1st October 1991 in Faisalabad city, Punjab. Asif Ali started his career with the Faisalabad cricket team.
He was picked up by the former captain of Pakistan national team Misbah ul Haq in 2011. The right-handed batsman played his first T20 for Pakistan on 1 April 2018 against West Indies and first ODI on 13 July 2018 against Zimbabwe.
The domestic performance of Asif Ali was phenomenal but he couldn’t play a match-winning inning for Pakistan until the last men’s T20 world cup in 2021.
In the 2021 T20 world cup, he performed for Pakistan and won two crucial games for Pakistan.
In a crucial match against Afghanistan where Pakistan needed 23 runs on the last 12 balls, Asif Ali came and hit four gigantic sixes in the second last over and won the game for Pakistan at ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Asif Ali’s PSL career started with Islamabad United in 2021. If you take a look at his PSL career, it’s just astounding. He is one of those three players who scored more than 300 runs with a strike rate of 160+. The other two players are Luke Ronchi and Kieron Pollard.

Asif Ali’s PSL career is with Islamabad United only as he is one of those few players who never changed their PSL team. Since the start of the PSL, Asif Ali has been a very important batter for Islamabad United. He played all the seasons, and you also have seen him playing for IU in PSL 2023.
Usually, Asif Ali bats on the sixth number and is considered the best finisher for his team. He has finished the game with his hard-hitting batting on several occasions for Islamabad United.

Asif Ali holds the joint record of the fastest fifty in PSL. In 2019, he made 50 runs on just 17 balls which is the fastest-ever fifty in PSL to date. Kamran Akmal was the first one to make this fastest fifty on 17 balls in 2018 from Peshawar Zalmi.
Another player from Peshawar Zalmi, Hazratullah Zazai also made 17 balls fifty in the 6th edition of PSL against Karachi Kings.

Asif Ali in PSL 8 (2023)
In PSL 2023, you have seen Asif Ali in action in March 2023. For the first time in the history of the Pakistan Super League, in PSL 7 Asif Ali was picked up in the Platinum category.
This was all because of his brilliant match winnings knocks in 2 matches in the T20 World Cup 2021 against Afghanistan and New Zealand.
In recent PSL 8 Asif Ali played 9 matches by the Islamabad United side and scored 114 runs. His strike rate in this PSL was 148.05 and averaged 19.00.
