Pakistan Lead By 88 Runs As Fawad Alam Makes A Brilliant Century

Pakistan started the 2nd day under a lot of pressure when they resumed the play from 33-4. Then at the end of the day, Pakistan has a lead of 88 runs and they still have 2 more wickets.

Fawad Alam makes another brilliant century on this wicket and helped Pakistan to make a great comeback from 27-4 to 308-8. He faced the bowlers with confidence and make 109 runs on 245 balls with the help of 9 boundaries and 2 sixes.

Fawad, who was ignored for 10 years by the selectors, is making a statement with his back to back performances. He caught on the midwicket on a good ball by Ngidi, but Fawad was disappointed with his shot selection.

Earlier, 14 wickets were fell down on the 1st day, and then Pakistan survived the 1st session of day 2 without losing a wicket. Azhar batted well before the lunch break.

Azhar Ali caught behind when he made his fifty and was batting on 51 runs after the lunch break. After Azhar, Rizwan stayed on the crease for some time and joined Fawad Alam. He added 33 crucial runs in the total and gone when the total on the scorecard was 176.

Next comes Faheem Ashraf and he builds up a quick and crucial partnership with Fawad Alam. Both players batted well and they added another 102 runs in the total when Fawad lost his wicket on a total of 278 after making individually 109 runs.

This was the 7th wicket that Pakistan lost and then Faheem Ashraf was gone on a total score of 295 on the board. He made 64 runs on 84 balls with the help of 9 boundaries.

At the end of the day, Hassan Ali and Nauman Ali were on the crease and takes the total to 308 on the last ball of day 2. Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj, Lungi Ngidi, and Anrich Nortje gets 2 wickets each in the 1st innings of Pakistan till now.

Pakistan will resume the 1st innings on Day 3 again tomorrow morning.
