Rahmanullah Gurbaz (54), who produced a brilliant fifty, and Andre Russell (0) both fell victim to consecutive balls from Karn Sharma, which left the KKR struggling at 89 runs with the loss of five wickets in 11.3 overs after KKR had already lost their initial match to Punjab Kings.

The next delivery of the over presented Sharma with an opportunity to take a hat trick, but Shardul stopped him from doing so, and he then led a dramatic counterattack against the RCB along with Singh.

Both batsmen contributed to a superb 103-run partnership that was achieved in only 45 balls, which put the KKR in a position of dominance.

Shardul and Singh’s partnership was single-handedly responsible for KKR’s victory, and their captain, Nitish Rana, was quick to point that out.

If you examine the latest game, there were some bright spots; despite being down by seven goals, we were still in the game. Even as recently as today, we were brought to our knees; kudos to Gurbaz. And what an incredible inning it was from Shardul Thakur! After the match, Rana noted that people will speak about Shardul, but that Rinku was able to hold one end up as we had anticipated.
