Bangladesh Premier League

The 12th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League will run from 26 December 2025 to 23 January 2026 – a deliberate 29-day window designed to finish well before the country’s February 2026 general election.

Six franchises will contest 34 matches across Sylhet, Chattogram, and Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in a double round-robin plus playoffs format. The teams are:

  • Dhaka Capitals (defending champions)
  • Chattogram Royals
  • Sylhet Titans
  • Rajshahi Warriors
  • Noakhali Express
  • Khulna Tigers (returning franchise)

For the first time since 2013, squads were built through a full player auction held on 30 November 2025 in Dhaka. Mohammad Naim became the most expensive local player at BDT 1.1 crore (Chattogram Royals), while Sri Lanka all-rounder Dasun Shanaka topped the overseas list at US$55,000 (Dhaka Capitals).

Dutch-Bangla Bank continues as title sponsor, with all matches broadcast live on Gazi TV and streamed globally.

With a leaner lineup, revived auction drama, and a race against the election calendar, BPL 2026 promises high-intensity T20 cricket when it begins in just three weeks.
